JRD Energo is involved in the preparation, realisation and operation of modern energy projects. It has a team of experienced experts in both technical matters and in management, running projects and structured finance. It always selects and realises projects with regard to sustainable development and the environment.
The energy division was established as a part of JRD s.r.o. 15 years ago, with a focus on the preparation, realisation and operation of modern energy projects. The first installations were roof photovoltaic panels on JRD’s apartment buildings with an output of kWp. They were followed by two large PVPP installations on brownfields, agricultural sites following demolition, with an output of 7 MWp in South Moravia.
In 2011, we built four PVPP in central Slovakia, which was followed by the development of several plans for hydroelectric power plants and biogas stations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia—we obtained valuable know-how, but did not realise any of the projects in the end. In addition, we checked out several investment opportunities in more remote destinations, such as Southeast Asia and Africa, but after several visits and mature consideration we decided not to enter these markets. In 2017, we sold the portfolio of our Slovak PVPP.
At the end of 2017, we brought Václavice Wind Park, the second largest wind park in the Czech Republic with 13 turbines and an output of 26 MW, into operation. A year later we started preparations for PVPP projects in Hungary, where we assembled a portfolio with a capacity of 30 MWp, the construction of which took place in two stages: 12 MWp in 2020 and 18 MWp in 2021, during the coronavirus pandemic and the global logistics crisis. Additional tens of MW of output in solar, wind and hydroelectric resources are currently at various stages of preparation. We have a team of experienced experts both in technical aspects and in management, running projects and structured finance. Another of the division’s focuses is modern energy solutions for JRD group development projects. JRD Energo’s aim is to supply smart energy with the smallest environmental footprint. We always choose and realise projects with regard to sustainable development and the environment.
